The Aussie chart-topper will play the part of a sexy Cyberwoman in Voyage of the Damned. Filming of the one-off episode begins in Cardiff later this month. Confirmation of Kylie’s cameo with timelord David Tennant gave the former Neighbours star a 253% increase in searches and propelled her back into Hotlist’s Bubbling Under chart.

The promise of the aesthetically-pleasing presence of Kylie Minogue has also raised searches for Doctor Who and the show’s cast. The show itself totalled 4,443 searches and trailed only Big Brother and WWE in Hotlist’s top TV searches chart. Hotlist look-ups for David Tennant also increased by over 20%. In addition, Freema Agyeman, having made her final appearance as Tennant’s loyal sidekick Martha Jones in the finale of the show’s most recent series, notched an impressive 45% search boost.

Joining Tennant in the TARDIS

Kylie isn’t the only search favourite to join Doctor Who in recent months. Life on Mars star John Simm appeared as classic Who villain The Master while comedy star Catherine Tate joined the cast for last year’s Christmas special. Ms Tate’s character Donna Noble will return as Tennant’s full time companion in the show’s fourth series next year (assuming she can be bovvered).

More bizarrely, it is also rumoured that Hollywood legend Dennis Hopper is also about to receive an offer to star in the show. Somewhat inevitably, the Easy Rider and Apocalypse Now star is slated to appear as one of the Doctor’s main adversaries.
