We’ve totalled up all your football searches from the start of the 2007/08 season up to the end of April. Some British football teams’ lack of success on the pitch has been cruelly reflected by their unpopularity online. In March, Premier League whipping boys Derby County recorded fewer Live Search look-ups than the search terms “gas fires” and “Postman Pat” while League Two strugglers Grimsby Town failed to muster as many searches as “Minnie Mouse” and “Dolly Parton”.

In contrast, freshly-minted Championship side Queen’s Park Rangers recorded marginally more searches than Jesus and Elvis Presley. No wonder billionaires Bernie Ecclestone and Lakshmi Mittal have ploughed their money into the West London club!
