Andy Woodward made 30 live performances as Elvis Presley in under 24 hours. His epic tour took in some of London’s most iconic landmarks including the Royal Albert Hall, the London Eye and the Abbey Road zebra crossing made famous by The Beatles. In addition to paying homage to his musical hero, Mr Woodward’s efforts also earned him a world record for the number of live performances made by a tribute act in one day.

Although he has been singing rock n roll for 10 years, Mr Woodward has only been impersonating Elvis Presley professionally since April. Despite this apparent lack of experience, he was named Best Welsh Elvis at an annual celebration in Porthcawl in June.

He has 70 Elvis numbers in his repertoire and cites “Blue Suede Shoes” as his favourite sing. Yesterday, despite the fact time was tight, he even found time to switch effortlessly between the classic Elvis looks of sequinned jumpsuit, gold lame jacket and all leather attire as part of his record breaking effort.
In true rock n roll style, he was driven from gig to gig on a customised Harley Davidson. In addition to his world record, Mr Woodward also raised £5,000 for a Welsh children’s hospital.
