We’re still over three months away from the start of the UK’s music festival season yet searches for Glastonbury, V Festival and T in the Park have soared amid line-up announcements, rumoured headliners and the scramble to secure tickets. Your searches have ensured all three festivals set up camp in Hotlist’s Bubbling Under chart. In terms of searches, Glastonbury, the daddy of all UK festivals, led the way after The Killers, Arctic Monkeys and The Who were confirmed on the bill. The new policy of festival goers having register prior to tickets going on sale also contributed to Glasto’s Hotlist buzz.
And with rumours flying regarding the remainder of the line-up, this buzz looks set to continue. Oxford quintet Radiohead are the latest band to be rumoured as next big act to be confirmed whilst the Kaiser Chiefs are the most recent addition to the bill.
Some Scottish music fans almost missed out completely on tickets after queuing all night outside Perth Town Hall as T In The Park tickets went on sale last weekend. Online, fans snapped up tickets quickly as the festival, featuring the The Killers, Snow Patrol, Razorlight and Kasabian, sold out in 40 minutes.
Tickets for the V Festival also looks set to be snapped up in record time. The event, split across two sites – Essex’s Hylands Park and Staffordshire’s Weston Park – boasts a slightly more commercial bill with the likes of Brits winners Amy Winehouse and Lily Allen lining up alongside Babyshambles, Foo Fighters, Primal Scream and a reformed Happy Mondays.
