The poll, conducted by the Leaders of London International Leadership Summit, asked 3,000 participants to name the most respected duos in the fields of business, charity, entertainment and sport.

Despite the media frenzy that follows their every move, David and Victoria Beckham could only trail in a distant third in the survey’s Entertainment category. Ahead of them in second place were popular TV duo Ant and Dec. The I’m A Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here presenters claimed 25% of the vote. However, they were pipped to the top spot by Rolling Stones’ mainmen Mick Jagger and Keith Richards. The pair have enjoyed one of the longest partnerships around and have sold over 200 million records since they got together in 1962.

Dynamic duos in sport and business

After recent events, it was no surprise to see the now-dissolved partnership of Jose Mourinho and Roman Abramovich absent from the top 3 sporting partnerships. Leading the way were rowing legends Steven Redgrave and Matthew Pinsent. Three of Redgrave’s record-breaking five Olympic gold medals were won in tandem with Pinsent. The pair also triumphed in 7 world championships while in tandem. Second and third places went to Tiger Woods and his caddy long-serving caddy Steve Williams and ice skating legends Jayne Torvill and Christopher Dean.

The charity and business categories were dominated by one couple: Bill and Melinda Gates. The Microsoft mogul and his missus have donated billions to many charitable causes, including a £400 million donation to the global health programme. They bested Bono and Bob Geldof and Glastonbury organizers Michael and Emily Eavis in the charity and social enterprise section and finished ahead of Google’s Sergey Brin and Larry Page and Top Shop owners Sir Philip and Lady Tina Green in the business category.
