When Susan Wade, the PR Manager of the Springfield Convention and Visitors Bureau in Missouri, joked that Brad Pitt, who grew up in the town, is such a big part of Springfield’s history and culture that the town should build a museum in his honour it seems there were some people who didn’t realise she was having a laugh.

The rumours of the potential Pitt museum gained such momentum that Brad’s Ocean’s Eleven pals Don Cheadle and George Clooney were both asked for their thoughts on the matter.

Cheadle joked that he would go as far as to run tours and ensconce himself in wax to ensure the museum was a 100% success while Clooney quipped that he would pay a good $4.50 for a ticket to pay homage to his movie mate.

Sadly, Wade told website USmagazine.com that the story was bogus and said her original comments were misquoted. It looks like fans of Brad will have to settle for worshipping him through the traditional methods of movies, websites and magazines for now.
