Cage was at his Newport Beach home with wife Alice Kim and their child Kal-El when he discovered the intruder. He asked him to remove the jacket before escorting him outside and calling a security guard. No one was hurt in the bizarre incident.

45-year-old Robert Dennis Furo Jr has been charged with first-degree burglary. He issued a not guilty plea and was ordered back to court on October 10 for a pre-trial hearing.

Celebrity crime victims

Cage is not the first American celebrity to be a victim of crime. In August, two men broke into Spider-Man 3 star Kirsten Dunst’s New York hotel room and pilfered an expensive goody bag containing a $13,000 Balenciaga purse, an iPod and several cameras. In 2005, the Los Angeles homes of Lindsay Lohan and Paris Hilton were both broken into by burglars.

Things aren’t any better for British celebrities. Big Brother motormouth Jade Goody’s home was recently burgled with thieves making off with £30,000 worth of valuables. Fellow reality TV star Kerry Katona was reduced to tears after her home was ransacked by burglars in July. And it seems even sports stars aren’t safe. Liverpool footballers Peter Crouch, Pepe Reina and Daniel Agger have all been victims of break-ins that occurred when they were away playing for the Reds.
